5 Elements of an Individual's Human Life Worth Living

Dream of having nothing to live for. It is like existing in an emptiness. As a human being, you have to express yourself in terms of what you dream, desire, believe, understand, and care about. What makes life worth living? Is the question every human being struggles to make an individual satisfying answer in the course of a lifetime. Some may say love, happiness, and so on. Life is an opportunity to shape and pave the way to the future.

Daily human life is inspired and shaped by what we desire to do and achieve in short term and long term during our lifetime. To make life worth living we need a chain of activities and plans about what we wish and need in life.

Dimensions of wellness keep us in balance with our lives. We get knowledge about individual wellness from religion, schools, society, and families.

Physical wellbeing, social wellbeing, intellectual wellbeing, and spiritual wellbeing are all we require in this life as we develop individually.
We need so much from this life.

We need a place, sanctuary, and freedom as well as self-autonomy. We need people around us. We need a friendly environment to live and thrive as we face the future. We need a society, possession, children, and a legacy. These are key elements and features of ourselves as part of this life.

1. Family.

Every human desire to have a family, raise children and be a fully responsible parent to young ones. To add another meaningful element to personal fulfillment and happiness is starting a family and raising it. The core element of any society is the family. It is where we originated as a society. Values and morals are instilled in us first by our families. You need a family. The family needs you. A family is a very important and delicate aspect of personal growth and wellbeing.

“In family life, love is the oil that eases friction, the cement that binds closer together, and the music that brings harmony.” Friedrich Nietzsche, Philosopher

Some of us in our lifetime become torn between work and family affairs. We get it hard to balance which is of greater concern when it comes to choosing between work and family.

“The strength of a family, like the strength of an army, lies in its loyalty to each other.”Mario Puzo, Author

Truly, work should be the most flexible aspect of them all. You can't ignore it. You can balance and take family and children as a second-to-none aspect of your life.

2. Children.

We desire to see a continuation of our genes, families, and values as well as morals. We get married to make life easier by sharing our weaknesses and strength. We strengthen and comfort as well as encourage each other. We build an unbroken bond by having offspring. We affirm the sense of responsibility, meaning, happiness, and purpose of life.

“The soul is healed by being with children.”Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Russian novelist, and philosopher

The future of any society is in children. Human behavior and development from birth to adulthood are positively and negatively affected by nature and nurture.

“Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded.” Jess Lair, author

Proper care of pregnancy, proper care after birth, proper upbringing during childhood, teenage, maturity to adulthood is very important because it determines the intellectual, emotional, and physical wellbeing of a person.

3. Socialization.

From when we were born to adulthood, we get initiated to the society and its systems. We socialize to get encouragement and comfort from our friends, family, relatives, and the systems created by our societies. It is where we get social skills.

"There has to be innate circuitry that does the learning, that creates the culture, that acquires the culture, and that responds to socialization." Steven Pinker, Psychologist

Social gatherings for sports events, ceremonies, music, school, market, conventions, and so on, keep us united because it's where we can get motivation, feel loved, appreciated, respected, and so on. Also, socialization creates a sense of belonging to a society. Its where we learn the ethics, morals, and values of society.

"My socialization as a child didn't come from any schooling; it came from being in theater and meeting people online."Felicia Day, Actress

Do you love your society more than you can love your family? Keep a balance between social issues and your family-personal issues.

4. Possession.

We desire to possess things, positions, and places in life. We try hard each day to be productive at work to be able to take care of ourselves and the people around us. We even move far beyond our possessions to create fortune and wealth.

"The most valuable possession you can own is an open heart. The most powerful weapon you can be is an instrument of peace."Carlos Santana, Musician, Guitarist

Having much wealth is having much power and a sense of pride as well as prestige. With wealth, we influence our societies. Most importantly, we need to be happy and have peace.

5. Legacy.

We desire to contribute to our societies. Also, we desire to influence what is happening in our personal lives, society, and the world.

"No legacy is so rich as honesty."William Shakespeare, Poet

We need and desire to feel a sense of integrity and responsibility to our societies. On top of that, to show an example, lead and become memorable to our society.

"Legacy is not what I did for myself. It's what I'm doing for the next generation."Vitor Belfort, Mixed Martial Artist

Lastly, our lives are centered on Family, Children, Possession and Wealth, Socialization, and a sense of belonging, as well as leaving a legacy when we are gone. Our daily life struggles are meaningful and sensible when we keep in balance with what we are doing and desiring to fulfill in this life. This will give us happiness, a sense of contentment, and a good place in this life.
